The dentist is a doctor who holds a specialization degree in the treatment, prevention and diagnosing the condition of oral cavity. The dentists can also be termed as dental surgeons and they have a supporting team which helps them in rendering health services to the patients. The support team comprises of dental technicians, dental therapists, dental assistants and hygienists who each have an essential role to play. A dentist can carry out all the main types of dental treatments like the dental restorations, endodontic therapy, orthodontics, periodontal gum therapy, prosthetic and the exodontias diagnosis. They can also take the radiographs and carry out diagnosis and perform examinations. The dentists are allowed to prescribe medications which range from sedatives, pain killers, fluorides, antibiotics and other medications for problems in the area of the neck and head.
